Happy New Year! Happy New You!

  • What do you want to be and do in the New Year?
  • Are you ready to release anything that’s keeps you playing small?
  • How will 2015 be better for you?

new year 2015Stress is a normal part of life. The value of self-care practices to release stress and improve your capacity to serve your families, clients, customers and community is substantial. Self-care is the foundation of empowered service to others.

However, there is another level of stress that prevails when you don’t honor your true nature or soul essence; when you don’t express your innate creativity or don’t live your divine purpose. In other words when you’re out of alignment with who you’re meant to be and what you’re meant to do; that stress can be chronic. I liken it to a low-grade fever; lingering long enough to zap your energy and keep you functioning in mediocrity mode.  The stress of not living your purpose or fulfilling your life’s mission can even develop into depression. Ask me how I know!

Symptoms of this level of stress show up as:

  1. a sense of restlessness or inability to focus
  2. easily distracted, tendency not to complete projects
  3. lacking motivation or fulfillment
  4. disappointment…letting ourselves and others down

You may not feel these symptoms but you may be playing small, instead of playing full out. You may be hanging at the edge, rather that diving completely in. Think about it…Are you being and doing your best in service to your clients and communities?

How do we shift so that we can have a healthy life and prosperous business?

  1. Develop Your Vision – whether it’s a vision of completing a half-marathon, serving more ideal clients or exceeding your revenue goals, see it in your heart and mind’s eye. Identify the “why” of your vision. Allow the “why” to be a guiding light and focus that helps you hold onto the vision. Create a vision board or altar as a tangible reminder of your vision. What is your vision for yourself?
  2. Cultivate Your Faith – following your vision requires faith, tenacity, stamina, discipline. It begins with an unwavering belief in yourself, trust in a Higher Power and faith to follow the course, regardless of perceived or real obstacles.

Although what you envision or plan may not materialize exactly the way you thought it would, do you give up because you fell short of the mark? No! You may change your strategy or re-assess your time-line. But if you believe in the vision and your capacity to fulfill the vision, you strengthen your faith, re-new your efforts and follow-through. In addition, you celebrate each milestone and any progress that you make. How would you rate your level of faith?

  1. Engage Your Support – no matter how talented, driven or resourced, you can’t bring your vision to fruition all alone. Whether it’s a family member, colleague or business partner, it’s essential to have a support team. Build your team with those whom you can share the process, delegate specific tasks and stay accountable. Is your current support system or team sufficient?

Although these are not the only keys to creating a healthy life and prosperous business, they are fundamental keys to the portals of possibility.
