HAPPY NEW YOU! Can you believe how quickly we’ve come to mid-January?
- Have you already given up on your resolutions?
- Are you still attempting to put your goals in order?
- How do you plan to have a phenomenal 2013?
There’s no question that the accelerated pace of time is the new normal. Those unable or not interested to keep up may find themselves operating in other dimensions; healthy or otherwise.
Some people will race along doggedly trying to adjust and collapsing beneath the weight of unrealistic expectations, while others will re-calibrate and re-prioritize, allowing themselves to consciously adjust to the flow…and consequently find themselves in the flow!
This time of year, we customarily focus on setting intentions. We all know that resolutions rarely work. However, conscious intention-setting is helpful. Consider these 7 tips:
- Begin formulating your intentions sooner. Consistent with the accelerated pace of change, December is now the new January. (However, you can commit to intention-setting now, before the end of January, if you’ve not already done so.)
- Be the commitment. Build on what worked the previous year and release what didn’t work or doesn’t serve you moving forward. Releasing involves forgiveness, compassion and self-care.
- Incorporate a holistic approach so that you set intentions with regard to maintaining bodymindspirit health and well-being.
- Allow your wildest imagination to fuel your ideas and intentions, while balancing them with concrete, practical action-steps to “make real” your intentions
- Divide your intentions into long-term (1-3 years); short-term (3-6 months) and NOW (1-7 days) time-frames. In this way, you avoid overwhelm by categorizing and prioritizing.
- Chunk down your 1-year intention into 30-60-90 day time-frames. Identify a minimum of 3 action steps for each week or the 30-60- 90 days increments. Monitor your progress and adjust weekly.
- Invite an Accountability Partner to support you, and support them as well. You’re far more likely to stay on track when you’re accountable to someone other than yourself.
