- Are you serving and supporting others, while neglecting your own physical and spiritual self-care?
- Does everyone and everything else take priority over caring for yourself?
- Is it time to recharge your batteries and replenish your reserves?
Self-Care, that is tending to and nurturing your own bodymindspirit first and foremost is essential for your health and well-being.
Too often we allow the demands of our families, jobs or businesses to overwhelm us. As a result, we feel stressed, exhausted and irritable. Unchecked over time this can lead to a cycle of illness, accidents or worse.
Rather than overextending yourself with too many commitments or competing priorities that diminishes your capacity to serve and support your family, friends or colleagues, give yourself permission now for conscious time out. Time out can take the form of:
- 10-20 minutes to meditate in the morning or evening
- Deep breathing refresh breaks throughout the day – can be done almost anywhere except when driving
- Leisurely walks in nature at least once or twice a week
- Regular cardio exercise such as zuumba balanced with centering exercise such as hatha yoga or tai chi
- Mid-Week Spa Days or Mini-Vacations during a 3-day weekend
When you make self-care a priority, you can be of greater support and service to others. Self-Care keeps you balanced, centered, relaxed and healthy in bodymindspirit, enabling you to serve from a wellspring of vitality, vigor, ease and grace.
Consider making this your affirmation for today:
“Today, I consider my own needs first. I am gentle and loving with myself, enjoy my health, and take time for peaceful reflection. My well-being overflows as a blessing to those around me.”
