Be Bold for Change
Dear One, I’m writing this blog just before Ash Wednesday. I’m letting go of resistance; that is resistance to procrastination and inconsistency. In other words, I’m taking positive action on my intentions and commitments, doing so in a timely and consistent manner. How about you? Is there anything or anyone you’re ready to release? When you release, you’re making space for something new. Rather than being like one of the people who make New Year’s resolutions and forget them within 6 weeks, identify someone you can rely on to keep you accountable. Be willing to support them as well. For those who don’t observe Ash Wednesday, use this time to recommit to your intentions and goals; assess the status, make appropriate revisions and renew your movement forward. Wednesday, March 8 is International Women’s Day. The theme this year is “Be Bold for Change”. This excites and motivates me! To learn more, go to: www.internationalwomensday.com We know that change is always occurring. Rather than being controlled or overwhelmed by external circumstances, be proactive. Take initiative and leadership in your own life to be the change you want to see.
- What would you like to see in your personal life, family, work environment, community or country?
To Be Bold for Change, be willing to:
- Step out of your comfort zone
- Play a larger game
- Exercise your rights and stand in your power
- Resurrect a buried passion and express that passion
- Collaborate with others to fulfill a shared vision
- Mentor a young person in your place of worship, workplace or neighborhood
- Accept that your efforts may not result in immediate change or a substantial difference.
- Shift your desired outcome, strategy or tactics
- Commit to the long haul and engage others to share their skills, talents or resources.
- What Else?
“Your vision of what’s possible and your desire to make it happen must be bigger than your fear.” –Harriet Tubman Wright Now is the best time to be decisive, clear and bold for change!
