Now is a time of troubling polarity and division in this country and beyond. This crisis is untenable and unacceptable. There are many factors contributing to the breakdown of political, religious, economic systems and financial institutions, as well as the vicious assault on values of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
In addition, we’re experiencing the impacts of global warming through increasingly dramatic climate shifts and natural disasters. Weather patterns throughout the world are no longer predictable.
Furthermore, we’re seeing the desperate and sometimes criminal efforts of those entities that are holding on, resisting positive change, emphatically trying to maintain their wealth, power, and status, at any cost.
Given this current reality:
Who must we be now? What must we do now?
How are we to reconcile the polarities that are dividing and weakening this country and our world now?
What is the shared vision that we want to realize in this lifetime?
There are people exploring and acting on these questions now.
Organic and collective movements are emerging around the world, organized around issues of social and environmental justice; the re-distribution of natural resources that support local economies, more women in leadership, and grassroots-initiated efforts that are re-inventing conscious community. In addition, growing numbers of influential people in the arts, entertainment, and sports are partnering with organizations and causes that seek to overcome health, education and economic disparities, and help improve the quality of life for marginalized people and communities, for example, Oprah and Bono.
One of the most refreshing movements is that of conscious entrepreneurs, sometimes referred to as spirit-rich, heart-centered or soul-preneurs. Conscious entrepreneurs value authenticity and integrity, prefer value-based ‘new paradigm’ marketing from the heart, rather than hard sell marketing that manipulates or exploits, as well as providing services and products that heal, uplift, empower and transform.
Finally, we cannot overlook the accelerating global impact of technology, specifically the prolific rise of social media networks like FACEBOOK, twitter, youtube, plus Skype, Maestro Conference and Zoom that are bringing together people of diverse cultures, religions and even languages, into dialogue and collective action. These are positive signs of people coming together for a greater good.
Can you imagine or envision what the greater good might be for you? For our country and the world?
I’m encouraged by the deepening awareness that our way forward is an evolving spiritual consciousness that understands we are all one, intimately and indelibly connected. These times call for a divine covenant of love, justice, peace and mutual respect for the enriching diversity encompassed by everything on Mother Earth.
I invite you to initiate a new movement in collaboration with others or join an existing one. Share your ideas, talents, skills and resources to take inspired action for positive change. The time to evolve ourselves and our planet is NOW!
Together, we must be the change we want to experience in our families, workplaces, neighborhoods, country, and the world.
