Creativity expressed through Harriet at an early age as instrumental music, modern dance, sewing and fashion modeling. She was raised in Oakland where she attended public schools. She became a member of Taylor Memorial United Methodist Church and enriched her Spiritual Journey with the teachings and practices of Siddha Yoga (Swami Baba Muktananda); graduate studies in Creation Spirituality (Matthew Fox, Ph.D.); Religious Science (Rev. Elouise D. Oliver); Ritual Healing (Malidoma Somé and Sobonfu Somé of Burkina Faso, West Africa); Conscious Evolution (Barbara Marx Hubbard); and most recently Kabbalistic Studies (Will Coleman, Ph.D.)

Harriet is a Seasoned Professional. She successfully developed and managed programs in community-based organizations, educational institutions and government agencies. For five years, she helped improve the quality of life for rural villagers in West and East Africa.. She has traveled in Canada, the Caribbean and Central America, Europe, Hong Kong and India, appreciating the rich tapestry of cultural and spiritual diversity.

Harriet launched The Wright Business, Ltd. Events with Spirit, an event planning, promotion and production business. With her acumen artistry, professionalism and appreciation for creative expression, she has partnered with private clients and public agencies to coordinate art exhibitions, book publishing parties, birthday and retirement celebrations, conferences, cultural events, weddings, receptions, retreats and rituals. Her innate capacity to vision the larger intent and pay attention to the details has earned her a stellar reputation in event production and management.
Harriet is a Ritual Artist. She brings a wealth of creative talent and spiritual focus to her work. She installs altars in private homes and is frequently called on to create sacred space for public events. She incorporates altars, expressive arts and sacred ritual in her workshops and events to help transform the space and the participants.

For several years Harriet pursued her dream to create The Wright Resort, A BodyMindSpirit Wellness Center. She began by convening Salons serving primarily African-American women in 2006. Upon retirement from the City of Oakland, she transitioned to full-time operations in early 2008, gradually expanding its focus to include individual coaching, tele-seminars, spa days and consulting services to businesses in live and virtual formats.

Harriet received her BA in Philosophy from Howard University in Washington, DC, an MS in Counseling and MA in Culture and Creation Spirituality. She earned a Certificate in Person-Centered Expressive Arts for Healing and Social Change, an innovative program founded by Natalie Rogers, Ph.D., REAT from Saybrook Graduate School in December 2009. She also became a Certified Money, Marketing and Soul™ Coach, working with the pioneering Branding with Archetype™ system created by Million Dollar Marketing Coach Kendall SummerHawk. In 2010 she earned the Competent Communicator designation from Toastmasters International, followed by Advanced Communicator Bronze (ACB) and Competent Leader (CL). She has represented East Bay Toastmasters in local and regional speech contests, and served as VP of Public Relations in 2012. Harriet became a Certified Agent of Conscious Evolution in 2011 through Barbara Marks Hubbard ACE Training in association with The SHIFT Network. She is an avid Life-Long Learner who thrives on enriching her life and the lives of others.
Harriet is a Charter Member of the International Association of Women in Business Coaching (IAWBC) and the Global Network of Expressive Arts Facilitators, (GNEAF).
She is a graduate of Leadership Oakland, a program of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and the Oakland Rotary, as well as Women’s Initiative for Self Employment and Optimum Health Institute.

Harriet is a Natural Leader, generously sharing her skills and talents in a range of community service activities. She is Health Conductor #95 formerly through the Bay Area Black United Fund (BABUF) Initiative to address health disparities in the African American community. She has served on the East Bay Church of Religious Science (EBCRS) Board of Trustees and been active with the Health & Wellness Ministry. In 2010, she was recognized as the Sacred Service Champion at EBCRS. Previously, Harriet served on the Graduate Leadership Council of Women’s Initiative and Board of the University YWCA Board in Berkeley, CA.
Initiated as an Elder, Harriet is a member of The Village, a multi-ethnic San Francisco Bay Area group of individuals who have learned the benefits of ritual healing practices, are committed to sharing the wisdom of indigenous cultures and fundraising to support projects that help improve the quality of life in rural Burkina Faso. She brings her learning into The Wright Resort through altar-making and sacred ritual.

Attributing her deep spiritual connection with Africa to that of the priestesses in the temples of Ancient Kemet (Egypt), Harriet is recognized as the High Priestess. As one who embodies the Artist Alchemist Archetype, values freedom of expression and cultivates the creative essence within her liberating engagement with others, Harriet is called a Ritual Artist. Based on her purpose-driven manner of facilitating results with her clients, she is also known as the Compassionate Task-Master. Harriet is also a published poet/writer and enjoys landscape gardening, nature hikes, international travel, and quality time at resorts and spas.

Harriet is the proud mother of Edward M.W. Wright, a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley with a BA Degree in Social Welfare. He completed an outstanding collegiate career as an NCAA All American High Jumper and is an aspiring Olympic athlete, coach and mentor.
