Yearning to “Be” More

by | Jun 19, 2015 | Inspire, Lifestyle

Within each of us is a yearning to be more…to be more loving, wise, brave, creative, disciplined, and prosperous. Ultimately, we long to be what we were born to be, and to live life more joyfully and peacefully.

Sometimes people are clear from an early age about their passion and gift. They devote their lives to developing themselves as musicians, scientists, educators, ministers, athletes, entrepreneurs; many become masters.  It’s a delight to be around those people who are clearly being and doing what they most love.  They exude passionate energy, unfailing enthusiasm and a magnetism that heals, uplifts, enlightens, motivates, transforms, and more…

Other people allow themselves to be what family, society or “circumstances” expect or dictate.  They settle for less, play small, compromise their values, go along with the status quo, consequently functioning at levels of mediocrity.  The experience boredom, frustration, disappointment, anger, perhaps even regret in unfulfilled lives.

Finally, there are people who’ve not given up on themselves, but are rather searching, exploring and willing to continue the journey to discover, remember or accept their calling.  They are open to guidance and support; they want their light to shine more radiantly.  They understand that with the right teacher, mentor or coach, they can step into their greatness to “be” all they’re meant to be.
